FAQ's
They are handmade in Brisbane Australia with local Beeswax, 100% Cotton, Certified Organic Coconut Oil and Love.
No resins in any form are used in Frog In A Teacup wraps due to possible toxicity. When heated (which is part of the process), some toxins may form which can transfer into the food therefore we refuse to use any. These wraps still stick to themselves without it which is better for your health.
When you first get them, wash in cold soapy water. Once airdried, scrunch into a ball. This will activate the wrap. After that, the wax sticks to itself with your body heat. Simply wrap, fold or cover over any suitable item and press gently to seal them.
You are asked to wash and scrunch your wraps to activate. This is because they are more difficult to use when stiff and do not stick as well. Over time, your wraps will soften which we find makes them easier to use.
We do not advise rewaxing / reheating them due to hygiene reasons. Don't worry, any beeswax smell won't transfer to your food.
Because they are so fun! They are reusable, sustainable, versatile, local, antibacterial and biodegradable unlike cling film and sandwich bags which will outlive you in landfill (Boo Hiss!)
They can be used in countless ways. Wrap your sandwiches, cheese, leftovers, flatbreads, flowers, bread loaves, fresh produce, soap, toiletries like toothbrushes, pegs, snacks and more. Avoid contact with raw meats, hot or wet items. Should you find some residue on your dishes, wipe off with a drop of oil and wash in hot soapy water.
In the fridge, freezer (although the contents won't last as long as an airtight container), on the go, to take your toiletries, lunchboxes and more. They are not suitable to cover hot dishes, in the microwave, hold liquids like yoghurt but once dish and contents have cooled, they can be used to cover leftovers, marinades, yoghurt etc.
With care they can last up to a year before they stop sticking. Then just pop into your compost or bury in your garden and purchase a new set.
Simply wipe down or wash in cold soapy water, rinse and hang to dry. Alternatively, fill your sink slightly with cold water and detergent, wash and rinse your wraps then fill your sink with hot water for the remainder of the (neverending pile of) dishes to wash. I recommend a peg rack over your sink on the curtain rod or similar if possible to airdry your wraps. Some foods like beetroot, strawberries, etc can stain but will not otherwise affect your wrap. Hot water and soaking will greatly reduce the lifespan of your wraps. Store in a cool dry place. If you have a hot summer, you can store them in the fridge.
Anyone! However, if you have allergies to beeswax or coconut oil they are not suitable.
